Job Overview
The Council for Geoscience is recruiting two Warehouse Officers on a permanent basis to support warehouse and inventory operations at its Head Office in Pretoria.
- Position: Warehouse Officer (x2)
- Location: Pretoria (Head Office)
- Employment Type: Permanent
- Salary: R368 051.13 CTC per annum (Peromnes Grade P12)
- Reporting to: Manager: Assets
What You’ll Be Doing
Warehouse Operations
- Receive and verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders and documentation
- Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies and report issues
- Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment and safety procedures
- Organise storage areas to maximise space and efficiency
Inventory Management
- Assist with inventory tracking, stock control, and reconciliation
- Perform physical stock counts, cycle counts, and stock checks
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or overstock situations
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies
Dispatch & Logistics
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment
- Generate shipping documents, labels, and packing slips
- Coordinate with logistics providers and track deliveries
- Ensure timely and accurate dispatch of goods
Compliance & Safety
- Follow standard operating procedures and company policies
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment
- Conduct safety checks and report equipment issues
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in:
- Logistics
- Warehouse Management
- Or an equivalent qualification
Experience
- 3–5 years’ experience in warehouse or store operations
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of PFMA, Treasury Regulations, and GRAP
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (ERP experience is advantageous)
- Strong logistics and stock control skills
- Computer literacy (MS Office Suite)
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures
