About the Programme
Rand Water invites unemployed youth to apply for the Horticulture Learnership Programme (NQF Level 2). This programme provides practical and theoretical training in horticulture while contributing to skills development aligned with the National Skills Development Strategy.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be unemployed
- Must not be registered for any qualification or learnership programme
- Must not hold any completed post-matric qualification
- Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics/Math Literacy and Life Science (minimum Level 3 in all subjects)
- SAQA/NLRD verification report required
- South African citizen with a valid SA ID
- Aged between 18 and 35 years
Note: Failure to disclose post-matric qualifications will result in disqualification.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with horticultural site maintenance and plant production
- Monitor plant growth and soil preparation
- Maintain tools, equipment, and irrigation systems
- Support planting, watering, fertilising, and propagation activities
- Attend classes and complete assignments
- Participate in assessments and maintain a practical logbook
Skills & Attributes
- Good verbal and written communication skills

- Basic understanding of environmental and water sector contribution
