The University of Venda is seeking a strategic and operational leader for the University-Community Business Advisory Centre (U-CBAC). This role focuses on driving enterprise development and inclusive rural economic development in alignment with the University’s long-term vision.

Minimum Requirements

  • An Honours Degree in Business, Development Studies, Economics, or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in enterprise development, business incubation, or stakeholder management
  • Demonstrated ability to mobilise resources and manage projects effectively
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

  • Expertise in business incubation and enterprise development
  • Advanced stakeholder management and engagement strategies
  • Proven track record in resource mobilisation and sustainability planning
  • Ability to align operational activities with institutional strategic plans (Vision 2040)
  • Knowledge of inclusive rural economic development models
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Oversight

  • Provide operational oversight and strategic leadership for the U-CBAC
  • Lead the expansion of UBAC operations across multiple community advisory centres
  • Ensure all activities align with the University’s Strategic Plan 2026–2030 and Vision 2040

Resource & Project Management

  • Drive resource mobilisation initiatives to ensure the sustainability and growth of the centre
  • Manage complex projects effectively within specified timelines and budgets
  • Position the institution as a leader in rural economic development through high-impact initiatives

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Manage relationships between the university, community, and business stakeholders
  • Facilitate community business advisory services to foster local economic growth
  • Collaborate with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Research & Postgraduate Studies on strategic objectives
