Minimum Requirements
- A Master’s degree in English Language Teaching, English Language Studies, or Applied Language Studies (English)
- At least three (3) years of teaching experience at a tertiary institution OR five (5) years of relevant professional experience
- Evidence of research capability (Publications in peer-reviewed journals will be an added advantage)
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced knowledge in English Language and Applied Language Studies
- Proficiency in curriculum development and academic review processes
- Competency in supervising postgraduate research (Honours and Master’s)
- Ability to integrate e-learning tools and digital platforms into teaching
- Strong commitment to scholarly publishing and research output
- Skills in academic mentorship and student engagement
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Deliver high-quality teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous programme improvement
- Integrate digital platforms and e-learning tools to enhance student engagement
- Ensure programme relevance and academic excellence in all delivered modules
Research & Supervision
- Supervise Honours and Master’s students, providing research guidance
- Produce and publish scholarly work in accredited peer-reviewed journals
- Actively contribute to the department’s overall research outputs
- Provide academic mentorship to students to foster a culture of research
Community & Strategy
- Participate in community engagement initiatives aligned with University goals
- Support the Deputy Vice Chancellor: Teaching and Learning in faculty objectives
- Engage in departmental and faculty administrative duties as required
