FlySafair has a vacancy for a Customer Service Agent based at OR Tambo International Airport. The successful applicant will report to the Airport Base Manager and play a vital role in passenger ticket sales and ground-based customer support.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential)
  • Previous experience in Airport operations and Ticket Sales (Essential)
  • Willingness to work weekends, public holidays, and flexible shifts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Excellent command of the English language (written and verbal)

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of airline ticket sales, bookings, and flight changes
  • Familiarity with aviation rules, terms, conditions, and regulations
  • Exceptional customer service delivery and phone etiquette
  • Conflict resolution skills for handling difficult situations
  • Ability to handle and safeguard confidential passenger information
  • High degree of patience, assertiveness, and professional reliability

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Bookings

  • Assist passengers with ticket sales, new bookings, and flight changes
  • Explain airline rules, terms, and conditions to customers clearly
  • Manage passenger transactions accurately and professionally

Passenger Support

  • Provide immediate assistance during flight disruptions or cancellations
  • Address customer complaints in a professional and timeous manner
  • Escalate problematic issues to the Supervisor on duty when necessary
  • Maintain a high standard of professional customer service at all times

Operations & Compliance

  • Safeguard confidential information and passenger data
  • Ensure all airline procedures and regulations are strictly followed
  • Manage time effectively to meet high-pressure airport demands
  • Assist with ground-based passenger services as required
