Role Purpose
To manage the daily operations and activities of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) IT Service Desk, ensuring efficient handling of IT incidents and service requests while maintaining exceptional customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily IT Service Desk operations to ensure timely resolution of incidents and requests
- Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Drive continuous process improvement initiatives
- Oversee IT Service Desk reporting, data analytics, and documentation
- Monitor and enforce governance, compliance, and IT service standards
- Promote automation and employee self-service initiatives
- Build and manage internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Participate in departmental and divisional projects aligned to SARB objectives
- Manage and monitor third-party service providers and contractors
- Ensure service quality and provide coaching where required
- Oversee training and development of IT Service Desk staff
- Contribute to resource planning, budgeting, and cost control
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
- ITIL Foundation Certification in IT Service Management
Experience
- 5–8 years’ experience in an IT environment
- Proven experience managing IT service operations
