Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 qualification
- Security qualification (required)
- Minimum Grade C PSIRA/SOB registration
- Minimum 2 years retail security experience
- Own reliable transport
- Ability to work flexible hours/shifts and be contactable at all times
Knowledge & Skills
- Retail security procedures and loss prevention practices
- Emergency response protocols and safety compliance
- Strong observation, vigilance, and incident reporting
- Ability to stay calm and level-headed under pressure
- Courteous and professional customer service interaction
- Skills in evaluating security systems and making recommendations
Key Responsibilities
Store Security Operations
- Monitor store premises consistently for security risks
- Prevent shrinkage, theft, and losses of company assets
- Enforce security policies and procedures strictly
- Respond to security incidents or breaches quickly
Safety & Compliance
- Follow correct emergency and evacuation procedures
- Ensure employees and customers adhere to safety policies
- Identify potential risks and take immediate corrective action
- Liaise with senior management, external security firms, and SAPS
Customer & Staff Interaction
- Engage professionally and courteously with all stakeholders
- Support staff with security matters and store protocols
- Handle difficult or challenging customers calmly and firmly
- Lead by example in maintaining a secure store environment
Monitoring & Reporting
- Conduct regular patrols and scan for areas needing attention
- Observe and report suspicious activity accurately
- Assist with alarm call-outs when necessary
- Perform all duties in an accurate and precise manner
