LPWR 2026 Electrical Learnership – Limpopo

The Limpopo Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure (LPWR), in partnership with the Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) and Edu House South Africa, is inviting applications for its 2026 Electrical Learnership Programme. This 12-month learnership provides young, unemployed South Africans with hands-on and theoretical training in Electrical Engineering, preparing them for technical careers in the public works sector.

The stipend is designed to support learners with transport, meals, and other living expenses throughout the programme.


Eligibility Requirements

  • Age: 18–35 years
  • Education: Clear certified matric certificate (Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent)
  • Status: Must be unemployed and available for the full 12-month programme
  • Mobility: Willing to relocate to designated training sites for both theoretical and practical components
  • Documents Required:
    • Comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV)
    • Clear certified copy of South African ID

Learning Outcomes

Participants will gain foundational and intermediate skills in the electrical field, including:

  • Basic electrical engineering principles
  • Installation and maintenance of electrical systems
  • Workplace safety compliance
  • Problem-solving in real project environments
  • Community-based infrastructural service delivery

Upon completion, learners may pursue employment opportunities in:

  • Public sector electrical departments
  • Construction and engineering companies
  • Municipal infrastructure units
  • Independent electrical contracting services
