Role Purpose

The Actuarial Specialist (Investment and Saving Solutions) will:

  • Utilise actuarial expertise to develop and maintain investment and savings solutions that meet client needs
  • Support product pricing, financial modelling, and viability studies
  • Analyse market opportunities and streamline existing product offerings
  • Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to support strategic decisions

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain solutions including endowments, tax-free, money-market, retirement annuities, life annuities
  • Conduct business viability studies and solution designs
  • Perform behavioural and predictive modelling to enhance client engagement and retention
  • Maintain financial models, projecting income and expenses across all business segments
  • Set key assumptions and measure their appropriateness over time
  • Price new solutions and review rates of existing solutions to ensure viability
  • Gather, analyse, and interpret data to inform business decisions
  • Identify opportunities and provide analytical insights for continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Degree in Actuarial Science
  • Honours in Actuarial Science preferred
  • Completed ASSA Foundation and Intermediate Technical exams (A100 & A200 series)
  • Minimum 2 years actuarial experience in Financial Services
  • Experience with actuarial software preferred
  • Long-term insurance product pricing and modelling experience preferred
