Purpose of the Role
The Finance & Insurance Manager is responsible for managing vehicle finance and insurance services at the dealership.
The role’s primary objectives are to:
- Maximize finance and insurance profit
- Support customers with financial solutions
- Ensure full compliance with Financial Services Board (FSB) regulations and related legislation
Minimum Experience
- At least three years’ experience in a similar finance or customer-focused role
- Experience in the Automotive Retail or Banking industry
Minimum Qualifications
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Relevant Diploma (Credit Management Diploma advantageous)
- Regulatory Exam (RE)
- NC Accreditation
- Retail or Short-Term Insurance Qualification (minimum 120 credits)
Key Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License
- Accredited by an FSP (Section 13 mandate)
- Up-to-date Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points
- Knowledge of:
- NCA, CRA, FAIS, FICA
- Vehicle legislation and trade practices
- Dealership policies and procedures
- Strong customer service and sales management skills
- Understanding of retail compliance requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Meet dealership sales and budget targets
- Maximize second gross profit
- Conduct financial needs analysis and sell approved finance and insurance products
- Ensure compliance with governance and legislative requirements
- Manage the finance and insurance debtor’s book
- Provide financial and insurance advice to customers
- Maintain accurate financial records
- Support overall dealership growth and profitability
- Maintain and enhance professional competence through ongoing learning
