Role Purpose
The Advanced Associate: Machine Operator is responsible for supporting production efficiency, equipment reliability, and quality standards within an automated paint shop environment. The role focuses on maintenance, fault resolution, safety compliance, and continuous improvement to meet BMW production, quality, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and resolve production and quality-related issues
- Implement improvement measures in collaboration with management
- Participate in quality improvement projects and cross-functional task teams
- Support achievement of environmental targets (ISO 14001)
- Ensure compliance with BMW specifications, OHS Act No. 85 of 1993, ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 14001
- Maintain safe work areas and equipment to prevent injuries and accidents
- Ensure equipment is maintained according to safety regulations
- Respond quickly to breakdowns to support production volume targets
Minimum Requirements
- N4 qualification plus Trade Test (Millwright)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance
- Experience in an automated production paint shop environment
Technical Skills & Experience
- Robotics experience (DÜRR and KUKA systems)
- PLC systems knowledge
- AC frequency drives experience
