Overview
Tharisa is offering bursaries for the 2026 academic year to support students in key mining-related disciplines. The bursary covers full study costs and includes practical exposure through vacation work. Successful candidates will also be required to complete a one-year graduate internship with the company after graduation.

What the Bursary Covers
- Full tuition fees

- Monthly allowance (from the first semester of 2026)
Additional Requirements:
- Participation in vacation work at the mine at the end of each academic year
- Completion of a minimum one-year graduate internship with the company after graduation
Minimum Requirements
For current students:
- Matric certificate with at least 60% in Mathematics and Physical Science
- Proof of registration in one of the listed disciplines
- Full academic record from tertiary institution

Important Notes
- Only South African citizens may apply.
- Preference will be given to applicants from local communities or labour-sending areas.
- Applicants currently receiving another bursary or sponsorship will not be considered.
- Final selection will consider Matric results (minimum 60% in Mathematics and Physical Science) and proof of registration or acceptance.
- In line with Employment Equity requirements, preference will be given to designated groups.
