The Government of the Republic of Mauritius invites applications for the Mauritius Africa Scholarship Scheme 2026. This programme provides talented students from African Union member states and African Commonwealth countries the opportunity to pursue higher education in Mauritius. The scholarship aims to support access to quality education while fostering stronger ties between Mauritius and the African continent.
Eligibility Criteria
Undergraduate Programmes
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must not have reached 26 years by 01 January 2027
Postgraduate Programmes (MPhil, MPhil/PhD, PhD)
- Must not have reached 40 years by 01 January 2027
Additional Requirement:
- Candidates must have applied for a full-time, on-campus programme (Diploma, Degree, MPhil, or PhD) at a public higher education institution in Mauritius.

Duration of Scholarship

Scholarship Benefits
Successful candidates will receive:
- Tuition fees at public higher education institutions
- Living expenses during studies in Mauritius
- Return airfare (economical route) to and from the country of origin
Application Process
- Applications must be submitted through the nominating agency in your country of citizenship.
- Typically part of the Ministry of Education
- Each agency may shortlist and endorse up to 15 candidates
- Ensure that Section 5 of the application form is completed and endorsed by the nominating agency.
- Prepare all required documents as outlined in the Guidelines for Applicants.
